CranScan scans documents and receipts, reads the text on them and keeps the results on your phone. If something does not work, write to the developer. One person reads every message, usually within a few days.
To make a report quick to act on, name your phone model, the Android or iOS version, the CranScan version from Settings, and what you did just before the problem showed up.
In the app's own storage on your phone. Scans, recognized text and receipt data are never uploaded. Read the privacy policy for the full account.
Settings, then Backup. CranScan writes one zip file to a folder you pick. The same screen restores from a zip file.
Open the unlock screen and tap "Restore purchase". The one-time purchase follows your Google account on Android and your Apple account on iOS, so it comes back on any phone signed in to the same account. If it still does not arrive, email the address above with the store receipt.
Open Settings and check that the recognition pack is downloaded. The pack is fetched once from the project's public GitHub releases and then used offline. A photo taken straight down, with the whole receipt in the frame and even light, reads best.
On Android, some phones stop background work to save battery. Open the system Settings, find CranScan under Apps, and allow it to run in the background or turn battery limits off for it.
Delete single documents in the app; they move to the bin, where you can delete them for good. Uninstalling CranScan removes the app and all of its data from the phone. There is no account and no server-side copy to ask about.
Text recognition covers Cyrillic and Latin script. Receipt parsing reads totals, dates, shop names and line items.
